Google has been pulling hashtags and adding them to its search engine results page (SERP) snippets from the alt tags in page images, adding them to the description snippet they dynamically compose for the relevant search query.
If there are hashtags in the Alt tags for images, these already go to Pinterest boards as hashtags. Google is pulling them for SERP snippets.
The #hashtags above are in the post image alt tag field. Notice the bolding? The search was for “WordPress Tutor New York”. Google pulls it and bolds it, if they can find it. So, provide it and it will be found!
As of yet, the hashtags in Google SERP are not clickable, as they are on other platforms using them – although, direct searches of hashtags bring up relevant results.
