WordPress Tutor | Boston | Cambridge | Somerville | Charlestown

May 7, 2014 By Jon Burr

#tutor #nyc #westchester #wordpressWordPress is accessible and intuitive – but, maybe not at first. All of the icons and options can be scary to the new user. People don’t want to break things, and look like an idiot live on the internet. We’re a WordPress tutor, serving the Boston metropolitan area, including Suffolk County, for live consultations – and anywhere else in the world via phone and screen share technology.

Coaching, instruction, tutoring, education

We do this. Knowledge is empowerment. We want our customers to feel like they’re in charge of their web presence.

Setting up a site might involve more “coding” than most of our customers can do on their own, but once a design is in place and a site is built, it’s time for the site owner to take charge communicating their business to their customers.

We are happy to do maintenance contracts for our clients, but more often than not the reason they come to us is they don’t want to be dependent any more on their “web guy.”

Sometimes some coaching or tutoring is needed to get started. Whether we built your site, you did it yourself, or someone else did it, and you still need help with WordPress, we can help you. Get in touch with us, and we can set up a session. We bill at $75/hr for WordPress coaching.

There are some great video resources that we recommend! Free with signup:

WordPress 3.9, the latest version as of the date of this post, has improved image and widget handling. Premium themes use “widgets” to make your front page look like a web site (rather than a “blog”). Setting this up often requires the help of a designer or developer (we do this)… but it’s easier to manage after the fact now in WordPress 3.9.

This is what I’m looking at right now. WordPress starts with the dashboard! It’s really not scary. Wordpress Tutor Dashboard

We’re happy to be of service. Our rate for tutorial, in person, on the phone, or via screen share, is $1.25/minute, no minimum charge.

We’ll answer any question, consult on strategy, and teach you how to find the answer to any question you might have.

We’re a success when you don’t need us any more!
